‘Yes, we can – Nemesis als Schnitterin‘ entstand für eine Ausstellung im Käthe Kollwitz Museum und bezieht sich auf den ‚Bauerkrieg' Zyklus von Kollwitz. Im Mittelpunkt steht das Blatt ‚Beim Dengeln‘ (Blatt 3 aus dem Zyklus »Bauernkrieg«, 1908) aber auch das Blatt davor ‚Vergewaltigt‘, mit dem Kollwitz Gründe zeigt für den Aufstand und somit die Gewalt des Aufstands auch moralisch rechtfertigt. Bei Kollwitz wird die gepeinigte Frau selbst aktive Angreiferin. Meine Arbeit greift sowohl diesen aktiven Aspekt auf in den Bildzitaten der Frauen in der Kriegsindustrie, als auch den des Vergewaltigungsopfers.
'Yes, we can – Nemesis as reaper' was created for an exhibition at the Käthe Kollwitz Museum and refers to the 'Bauernkrieg' (Peasant War) cycle by Kollwitz. The focus is on the sheet ‘Beim Dengeln’ (When Denning), sheet 3 from the cycle ‘Bauernkrieg’, 1908, but also the sheet before ‘Vergewaltigt’ (Raped), with which Kollwitz shows reasons for the uprising and thus also morally justifies the violence of the uprising. In Kollwitz's work, the tormented woman herself becomes an active aggressor. My work takes up both this active aspect in the quotations of the women in the war industry, as well as that of the rape victim.
