For ten years my work has focused exclusively on painting and drawing the NIGHT and NIGHTLIFE in nature and urban surrounding.

I conduct my artistic fields research on site, painting at night and also produce literary reports on my night painting-sessions that include both details regarding working hours, location, weather and visual conditions as well as sensations, sensory perceptions and extraordinary encounters. This kind of field research is on the one side visual and emotional and on the other side intellectually reflecting the conditions of seeing and working outside at night.

In the last five years I have primarily examined the light formations of electrified cities from different perspectives, including also those from aeroplanes. One of this large paintings, size 3.60 x 8.00 meters, was recently exhibited at the Kunstmuseum Leipzig and at the museum MARTA in Herford.
