Anik Lazars work ranging from painting, drawing, performance to installation and sculpture occasionally is interwoven to a dazzling whole, targeting the utopia Gesamtkunstwerk. A theme for a dance performance becomes the motif of a painting series becomes the idea of a text in a sound piece and may end in an experiment of living nomadic for a while.
Born in Frankfurt in 1982, the artist lives and works in Hamburg, where she studied at Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg.
Recently, she showed a sculpture in a ballet piece in HAMBURGER BALLETT-TAGE in the Staatsoper Hamburg, took part in AUDIOCALL as a guest in the exhibition Feministische Avantgarde der 1970er Jahre in the Kunsthalle Hamburg and performed LAZAR CRASH as a part of This Red Door, Kunsthalle Galapagos, New York.
2016 she won the work grant of the city Hamburg (Arbeitsstipendium der Stadt Hamburg).
